Super Sam is is one to watch

One of the most promising snooker players in the district was in almost unplayable form in the Otley singles handicap this week.
Sam Finister, just 19, of Hollygarth was up against a very capable player in Andrew Coates of Addingham.
In the first frame Finister made a 36 break to close out the frame and immediately bettered it in the second frame with a sparkling 52 to leave Coates no chance.
Although not included in the season high break awards this is the second highest break made in the Otley League this season.
In this kind of form Finister must be one of the competition favourites and will certainly be a hot tip for the district under-21 competition.
In a really tight match Phil King of High Royds looked in good form as he took the opening frame against Kevin Barass of Otley Social.
Barass responded in the second frame and levelled the match on the black. Another tight final frame went to the black and it was King who potted it to progress .
